SENTINEL — Maritime surveillance of Senegal's EEZ

Goal

Detect anomalous vessel behaviour in Senegal’s EEZ — illegal fishing, deliberately disabled AIS, inconsistent tracks — by cross-referencing two independent sources.

What I built

• AISStream integration over WebSocket for real-time vessel tracking.
• Copernicus Sentinel Hub API (SAR / Sentinel-2) for satellite imagery.
• Anomaly detection by cross-checking: a vessel visible on radar imagery but absent from the AIS feed is flagged.
• Map rendering through MapTiler.

Personal proof of concept, not commercialised.
